| Procedure for Obtaining a Building Permit |

| Building permits are issued through the Engineering Department located on the 3rd floor of City Hall. The following information
will provide you with direct links to persons involved with the issuance of building permits. General questions can be directed to Patsy Smith by phoning

| Building Renovation involving the "change of use" of a structure or New Construction involving the expansion of a building’s
footprint or the Construction of a New Structure will require written approval from the City’s Planning Director that the proposed project is allowed
under the City’s zoning laws and that no variances or re-zonings are required. This approval is required prior to beginning the process of obtaining

| The City of Statesboro offers all building permit applicants the option of requesting a Pre-Submittal Meeting
to familiarize the applicant with the City’s permitting procedure and to provide the applicant an opportunity to ask questions of our Plan reviewers.
Typical City attendees are: Water/Sewer Department, Gas Department, Planning Department, Public Works Department, Fire Department and the Engineering

| Starting the Building Permit Process |
| Once an applicant has received written approval from the City’s Planning Department, the applicant can begin
the building permit process by completing the online "Preliminary Building Permit Application" and e-mailing this application to the City Engineer
at the following address: cheshire@statesboroga.net. The preliminary
information provided by the applicant will be used to determine the assigned City project reviewer. The project reviewer will respond back to the applicant
by e-mail to assist with obtaining a building permit in a timely manner. |

| Building Permit Payments: |
| Once all the City’s review/submittal requirements have been satisfied and the City is ready to issue either
a Grading Permit and/or a Building Permit, the applicant can pay all applicable fees. Once payment is made/confirmed, the applicant can come by City Hall
to sign and receive permit/s. |

| Note: Final fee calculations for a specific project can not be determined until all plans have been approved. Developer
can access the "Developer’s Package" for estimate of fees. |
